In 2014, we added Mentoring Club to our Camp Program. Mentoring Club operates during the school year. Club meets once a month for a couple of hours of fun activities with all campers and mentor pairs, as well as volunteers from camp that are Club volunteers. Mentors commit to meeting with their camper for 4 hours per month. We have seen great improvements in the campers self esteem through these relationships. Mentoring provides stability in what is sometimes a very unstable environment for children in foster care. By supporting our local mentoring club, you help local foster kids get the opportunity to participate in the mentoring program, at no cost to them or their foster families, where relationships are strengthened and these children learn to trust. You are helping change the trajectory of these kids’ lives.
